Pacific Beach has gotten quite the facelift recently, with the opening of new spots and revamping of several old bars/ restaurants. Even though I live in the quiet part of Crown Point, it’s still nice to be a bike ride away from Garnet if we want to go grab a good oceanview cocktail. Here are my top 3 spots for cocktails in PB this spring!
This 15,000 sqft monstrosity has already become the most popular spot in PB since its grand opening last week. Besides its 38 TVs and 5 indoor/ outdoor bars, its cocktail menu includes unique bevvies like a pineapple vanilla margarita, watermelon mule (uhh, yum I’m salivating), and they even have Angry Orchard’s new rosé on tap. I repeat- on. tap.

This is fish bowl paradise! If you’re not feeling up to sharing your cocktail out of a giant flamingo goblet, don’t fret. Waterbar’s adult beverage menu is eclectic to say the least. Their mythical-themed cocktails include the Thetis’ Love (Tanqueray, lemon, basil water, house blackberry-balsamic reduction), Mermaids Are Real (Herradura Blanco, basil, agave, lime, raspberry), and Seahorses Forever (Skyy, sage simple syrup, orgeat, lemon, Tropical Red Bull). If you want something lighter, I suggest the Ganga (Aperol, Pamplemousse Rose, lemon, and sparkling wine (pictured))- it’s delicious and refreshing!
El Prez has always been the mecca for rooftop cocktails. Head here for a pitcher of blueberry mint-a-ritas, a paloma served in an adobe mug, or a refreshing, sweet frosé slushee (pictured). Their spicy micheladas also pair well with their fresh, local-ingredient tacos made with house-made tortillas.
